Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars is the first novel from the Pretty Little Liars series, written by Sara Shepard. The novel deals with 4 girls in high school who live in the exclusive town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania. They were best friends but drifted apart after the leader of their clique, Alison "Ali" DiLaurentis, the "it" girl of Rosewood disappeared the night of one of their sleepovers. The novel starts the beginning of their junior year in high school, when they receive texts from a mysterious stalker named "A," who knows secrets from the present and from the past, that only Alison knew. The preface begins with a flashback the summer after the 5 girls' 7th grade year. Ali and Spencer get into a fight and Ali diappears. She is never heard from again so there is a police investigation, but she is not found.
